Departure of the political prisoners from LLedoners. /MIREIA ARSO / REGIO7
We Catalans deserve pardon, or amnesty, or any measure of grace that free us from this unjust and political sentence of which we are not guilty. And when I say Catalan I mean that more than half of us who do not agree with dogma, because it is a religion, of independence, and the condemnation I am referring to is the one that has oppressed us for too many years, that it has made us second-class citizens, outcasts and strangers in our own land; that condemnation that has usurped our institutions, our coexistence, our public spaces, our media, our administrations, our money and our peace; that fanaticism that has stolen friends from us, that has burned our streets, that has made wonderful Barcelona the worst place to live, invest or visit …
And incidentally, it would be good for those who have caused all this, if they do not pay their penalty in full, at least they have the feeling that it has not been for free.
Pardon, if it is to achieve social peace, yes. If it is to give another victory to those who have broken Catalan society, I do not see it.
