“The current configuration of the City Council, governed by PSC-Sant Vicenç in Positiu, is unfavorable to the principles of the pro-independence association AMI and for this reason no budget item will be reserved for the payment of the fee”, explained the city council in a press release .

Likewise, the city council explained that, although 2,231 euros were budgeted annually to pay the fee during the past term, bill payments have never been made effective.

The City Council says it never paid the 2,231 euros budgeted to pay the annual fee

In addition to stressing that they want to prioritize expenditures at the municipal level, the mayor, Miguel Comino, has pointed out that there is a judicial sentence “that makes it absolutely impossible” to comply with the payment of fees.

“Given the lack of political will and the impossibility of complying with the duty to pay the corresponding fee, the entity has already been notified that it should not issue more bills or any other communication related to the fact of being associated,” the city council concluded .
