The Generalitat is hindering the field hospital that the Army is building in Sabadell (Barcelona) in order to decongest the Parc Taulí center.
As Global Chronicle has learned, CatSalut considers that the design, consisting of the installation of tents with four beds, is “too corporate”, that is, it has a very military aesthetic, and requests that it be disassembled.
Between 240 and 280 beds
The Army began to work on those facilities yesterday, located on the athletics track in the town of Vallesana, which was due to start operating around April 10. It is expected to have between 240 and 280 beds for patients of the Parc Taulí Hospital who need medical attention.
On Tuesday, a regiment from the Spanish Army arrived in Sabadell, from Salamanca, to collaborate in the transformation of the space into the so-called Temporary Hospital Vallès Salut, now blocked.
Indignation in Sabadell
The outrage of the local authorities is absolute. It is not the first time that the armed forces have encountered obstacles in Catalonia. As published by Chronicle Global, the Government blocked the disinfection of 40 nursing homes by the Army. The Generalitat of Catalonia resisted giving the go-ahead to the Military Emergency Unit (UME) to go to the elderly centers and proceed to their cleaning.
