The 'president' ruins the pro-independence cause although the ruling of the Supreme Court was likely to resurrect it

The sentence of the Supreme Court was seen as the great agglutinating expectation of the sovereignty cause. The pro-independence families were broken and the strategies disintegrated, but the verdict of sedition was perceived as a cathartic, stimulating, regenerating argument. At least, until the violence induced by President Torra’s instructions and the fear strike – more people in the houses and in the offices than in the streets – have gutted the self-destructive mechanism of the pro-independence move.

The ‘gremlins’ of the CDR have been the rodents of implosion. Quim Torra thought he had trained them, but the anti-riot hose transforms them into violent and fierce creatures. It happens like this in the Joe Dante movie. Water turns pets into monsters.

The fire and the barricades, in effect, have broken the narrative of the civic and playful movement. A lesson that Quim Molotov Torra intends to cover up with the quirky theory of CNI infiltrates. Spanish intelligence has become so sophisticated that it has introduced itself in the enemy ranks of tractor drivers from Ampurdán, medical students who do not speak Spanish and ladies of the bourgeoisie who take advantage of a burning car to take a selfie.

The general strike itself is a failure despite the obvious success. Barcelona has been paralyzed in extortion conditions. The columns of the sovereignty carnival have sabotaged the capital of the failed state, but the neighbors and the city workers are victims of kidnapping, hostages of an inbreeding and intimidating strategy that undermines the credibility of the pro-sovereignty side.

The ex-counsellor Toni Comín already said that Catalonia had to be impoverished to harm Spain. ‘We’re going to fuck ourselves’ is the apocryphal motto of the ‘indepe’ movement. An escape of businesses has precipitated again. And the very nice image of Barcelona now suffers from incendiary simplification. Fire attracts newscasts in the same way that drives tourists away. And the external perspective relates Barcelona to the iconography of traumatized scenarios. Rivera himself has compared it to Aleppo and Baghdad in an unseemly exercise of frivolity.

Torra has ruined the good international image of the pro-sovereignty side. The biggest misfortune of the Catalan secession consists in the negligence of its helmsman

Torra has ruined the good international image of the pro-sovereignty side. The biggest misfortune of the Catalan secession consists in the negligence of its helmsman. He is the leader that Spain needed, the providential asset of constitutionalism. Not for having raised in his breasts the stellar pyromaniacs, but for his incendiary abilities in a political and conceptual sense. Torra has caused a crisis in his Government, has deranged the pro-independence segments and has ended up isolated in the Parliament. The new agenda of the disconnection is rejected by Esquerra Republicana, whose strategists salivate with the degeneration of the condotiero Torra and his electoral discredit.

These were not the anticipations with which the week began. Sedition sentences, the martyrdom of the defendants, predisposed a harmonious choreography of victimhood and stupor. The streets dawned with floral pedagogy … only to get dark with gasoline.

The point is not that the radicals are a minority, but the guardian role of those who protect them. Torra represents the system and the anti-system at the same time, he leads the Government and subversion at the same time. And not only from the atmospheric point of view: the Civil Guard, the army of occupation in the official glossary, investigates the organic links between the ‘president’ and the vandals. A criminal alliance whose disturbing ambitions have been neutralized by the Mossos d’Esquadra.

It is the reason for the disagreement between Torra and his Counsellor of Interior. Quim Molotov thought that the regional police would detach itself from their obligations. And that the Mossos would join the strike on Friday, but political deontology and the ruling of the Supreme Court have made Miquel Buch the protagonist of the resistance to the uprising of Torra.

The ‘president’ has endangered his own citizens, pro-independence and non-independence alike. It is the worst that can be said of a ruler. The general strike has been the fear strike in general. Torra has not seconded it. It was enough for him to organize it.
