"We are not in favour of anything that helps to increase division or rupture in Catalan society. For clarity there was clarity on 23 July in Catalonia and in Spain as a whole", Illa said in statements to the media from Brussels, reported by ACN. He also insisted that "it is not advisable to walk or take measures that encourage division".

The PSC leader advocates “discretion” and the Constitution in the negotiations on the investiture of Pedro Sánchez.

The first secretary of the PSC, Salvador Illa, has rejected this Wednesday the proposal for the clarity agreement formulated by the experts appointed by the government of the Generalitat.

“We are not in favour of anything that helps to increase division or rupture in Catalan society. For clarity there was clarity on 23 July in Catalonia and in Spain as a whole”, Illa said in statements to the media from Brussels, reported by ACN. He also insisted that “it is not advisable to walk or take measures that encourage division”.

On the other hand, the PSC leader has defended maintaining “discretion” on the talks for the investiture of the PSOE candidate, Pedro Sánchez, after Sánchez’s meeting with the ERC spokesman in Congress, Gabriel Rufián.

On the investiture talks, Illa called for “a lot of prudence and patience with the times”, as well as “a lot of Constitution”, according to the same information. As for Sumar’s proposed amnesty law, the PSC First Secretary insisted that it is not the PSOE’s proposal and added that he feels “comfortable” with “all agreements that are within the framework of the Constitution”. “I feel very comfortable within the Constitution. Outside, no”, he stressed.
