The President of the Generalitat invites all political forces, except Vox, to present alternatives
The President of the Generalitat, Pere Aragonès, has taken a step on Tuesday to promote his “clarity agreement”, the proposal he announced six months ago, by activating the group of experts in law and political science that is to pilot it.
Aragonès has foreseen that his proposal will begin and end in his executive, based on the questions that, from the outset, will be posed by the executive and must be answered by the group of experts formed “with a transversal and diverse will”, as he has said, by means of a first report that will lead to the participatory process.
According to this proposal, after the municipal elections, Aragonès will invite all political forces, except Vox, to present their alternatives for “resolving the political conflict with the state”. Towards the autumn, his plan is to hold debates with the participation of people chosen by lottery, according to criteria of “maximum representativeness”.
A second report by the group of experts will contain the conclusions that will form the basis of the “clarity agreement” that Aragonés wants to present to the Spanish government. The President of the Generalitat has defended his initiative, arguing that “the conflict with the State” has been “blocked for too long” and that in order to move forward, “new proposals are needed, aimed at the whole country, at Catalonia as a whole”.
