In recent times we are seeing too many episodes of disrespect for the legality or the resolutions of the judiciary or of organs ordering electoral processes.

We see it with groups that, bypassing international traffic regulations, violently impede the movement of vehicles, trucks or trains, or in small groups that have camped at the University Square for weeks with curious events such as theft of the box of resistance from their partners or even an uncontrolled and unfortunate rape of a girl at a time when gender violence is among the most detestable crimes. To say that occupying a square, a street, a highway, a station or an airport is not breaking the laws is a real mockery.

All this made the employers organization Foment del Treball and other entities and even companies and entities of first economic level insist that without tranquility and respect for legality our society will enter into a process of degradation probably irreversible, as there are many European cities that aspire to reap the rewards that the independence leaders refuse to recognize that Barcelona is leaving at their feet, no matter how much independence is determined to say that everything is going well here.

Now, in addition, we are faced with the unfortunate situation of mockery of the legality led by President Torra before the Superior Court of Justice of Catalonia after having refused to withdraw independentist symbols as required by the Electoral Board in application of current regulations.

Seeing the statement of President Torra before the Court, last Monday, November 18, those of us who do not share his ideological line, we were amazed to see that invoking rights and freedoms that he himself enjoys thanks to the Spanish Constitution of 1978 – even if he refuses to recognize it accepted that he had not complied with the law, a law, which according to his lawyer, he was not obliged to comply

This year 2019 marks the 735 anniversary of the death of Alfonso X the Wise who already made clear in his Seven Games that the authority is not exempt from complying with the laws and if this was said in the thirteenth century, today nobody disputes this principle whose practical application we are seeing, for just citing a case, in Donald Trump’s convoluted impeachment process in the House of Representatives of the United States.

It is out of the question that who should hold the highest representation of all Catalans – that he is circumscribing 42% of those who think like him –
repeatedly mocks the rules that regulate our coexistence no matter how much he affirms that, disabled or not by the courts, he will not go back to future elections, since he has already contributed as he should to the process since he received the witness of the escaped Puigdemont .

Curious interpretation of reality!
