The employers' association states that the situation of the economy is "very critical" and the activity must be resumed in safety conditions

Foment del Treball has expressed to the Generalitat its favorable position to end the total closure, provided that it is done in safety conditions and the protection of workers is guaranteed.

The president of Foment del Treball, Josep Sánchez Llibre, has stated his position in his telematic meeting with Catalan Government, led by the president of the Generalitat, Quim Torra, and the vice president, Pere Aragonès, together with the presidents of Pimec, Josep González, and the general secretaries of CCOO and UGT of Catalonia, Javier Pacheco and Camil Ros, and of Unió de Pagesos, Joan Caball.

A “Very critical” situation

Sánchez Llibre has indicated that the current situation is “very critical” for productive activity and the economy, and that if the authorities consider the end of confinement viable for the productive sectors that have to respond to demand, it must be done.

“In a moment of war economy, the demand must be met and we all have to put the conditions in place so that it can be done responsibly, attending to all the precautions of the health authorities, and following the protocols for safety, mobility and safety distance for workers “, defended the employer’s association.

The meeting was also attended by the regional Ministers for Labor, Social Affairs and Families of the Generalitat, Chakir el Homrani; for Business and Knowledge, Àngels Chacón, and for Agriculture, Livestock, Fishing and Food, Teresa Jordà.
