PP estimates that more than 60,000 attended the event called by the party in Madrid 48 hours before the investiture.
President of Popular Party, Alberto Núñez-Feijóo, denounced in a massive event in Madrid that amnesty is an “indignity” and a “fraud.” “Spain did not democratically vote for us to live in this situation,” Feijóo stated this Sunday at noon before thousands of people, including leaders and former leaders of the party. According to Feijóo, granting amnesty to those responsible for the process implies attacking the “equality” of the citizens of Spain without there being “consent” of the majority.
“The law has to be the same for everyone, starting with politicians,” he has argued, because “if they are not equal, it is a shame.” The leader of PP has accused the socialist leader, Pedro Sánchez, of being “responsible” and the PSOE of being “complicit”.
“Sánchez will know how he wants to be remembered in the history of our country,” Feijóo said about him. On the other hand, the leader of the PP has assured, 48 hours before submitting to the investiture debate in Congress, that he is “very clear”, that he defends “the freedom, equality and dignity” of Spaniards regardless of “Whether he will pass or not through the presidency of the Government.” “We are not fools. “We are not buying this,” he stated.
