The Republicans justify their favorable vote by the social advances that are included and consider that the issue of preliminary rulings to the European courts is logical in the guarantee of rights and does not harm the amnesty.
Esquerra Republicana will vote in favor of the three decrees that the Spanish Government will bring to the Congress of Deputies for ratification this Wednesday. In this way, the Republicans distance themselves from the rejection expressed by Junts per Catalunya. As explained by the ERC spokesperson, the national leadership of the party has agreed to a favorable vote for the important elements in social and economic matters that include the decrees to be ratified.
ERC rejects, in the thorniest issue of preliminary ruling questions to the European courts, on which Junts emphasizes, that the amnesty is harmed with respect to its application. Sans recognizes that “judges have mechanisms to delay the application of the amnesty and we are convinced that they will do so, but the issue of preliminary rulings does not increase them and instead is an issue of legal guarantees for citizens.”
According to Sans: “ERC is going to give its favorable vote to the three decrees for responsibility and coherence.” In the Sans labor decree, the increase in pensions according to the CPI or the more flexible access to unemployment benefits at certain advanced ages stands out. On the subject of justice, he highlights the measures to combat the saturation of Justice.
And about the reform of the Criminal Procedure Law that according to Junts could affect the application of the amnesty law by delaying its application, Republicans deny the mayor. ERC recalls that this issue was already included in the law that was pending in the last legislature and that the decree responds to some European recommendations.
Sans considers that it is a matter of legal guarantees that gives security to people immersed in a judicial process by suspending when the consideration of the European courts is requested until they rule on the matter.
