Nuria Pla, PhD in mathematics and head of language policy, has deleted her Twitter account.
Nuria Pla, one of the ten vice-rectors of the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC), has declared on Twitter this September 11, on the occasion of the National Day of Catalonia, that she has desire “of fire, burn containers and a collapsed airport! !!” Pla, who has a doctorate in mathematics and vice-rector for Quality and Language Policy at the UPC, has deleted her Twitter account.
The leader of Ciudadanos in Catalonia, Carlos Carrizosa, has demanded the “immediate cessation” of Pla and has announced that its formation “will undertake all necessary political actions.” Carrizosa has also stated that the fact that Pla is vice-rector of a public university “reflects the extent to which radical separatism takes over and gangrene everyone’s institutions.”
The PP deputy and former leader of the Ciudadanos ranks in Catalonia, Lorena Roldán, lamented that Pla has been “inciting violence with total impunity.” “Then you will see them calling themselves Democrats,” she added.
In a speech delivered during the National Day of Catalonia, the president of the ANC, Elisenda Paluzie, thanked the “rectors and vice-rectors of six Catalan public universities” for their support.
