About forty people attended the presentation ceremony of the Alliance of the Republican Left of Spain (AIRE), a platform that is defined as “radically contrary to any type of secessionist drift” and which intends to become a political party as of next July to stand in the municipal and general elections of 2023.
The event included the intervention of the former anti-corruption prosecutor Carlos Jiménez Villarejo. The former socialist leader and former SCC member, Javier Marín, also intervened, who opted for the arrest of Carles Puigdemont.
“As of today, the person most responsible for the seditious act is still on the run from Justice, although there is no doubt that he will end up paying for his crimes,” says Marín, in addition to calling independentists “merchants of illusions and shell gamers ”.
He also considers that independentists are “led by the most reactionary and corrupt extreme right in Catalonia.” “Since the founding of SCC, in 2014, I joined this fight of the constitutional unionists against the territorial divisionist criminals, who were already beginning to accumulate disqualification and corruption sentences for the famous 3% and the concealment of their plunderers in tax havens” .
“They run for the hills wielding the independent flag to hide their crimes, and try the impunity of the Spanish Justice with its Catalan judges,” he adds.
The five main points of this republican platform are, in the first place, the “uncompromising defense of all civil, economic and social rights included in the United Nations declarations.”
They also claim “inter-territorial solidarity that guarantees equal rights and duties for all Spaniards, without privileges associated to the place of birth or residence.”
“As a guarantee of this solidarity, ensure that in basic sectors such as justice, education, health, taxation, public security and fundamental services of a strategic nature, such as energy and water supply, it is the central state administration that has the last word”, they propose.
They also bet on an “economic policy focused on reducing social inequalities and especially on protecting the most disadvantaged working classes.” The “respect and defense of the cultural diversity existing in Spain and in each of its nationalities and regions” is the last of the points.
