Colonists, excrements, whores … The catalog of insults uttered by some members of JxCat list is long and varied. Its objective is not so much: to degrade to the ‘decatalization’ (that is, dehumanization) the Catalans who are not essentially independentists. The reference to the essence is important. In the unbridled race towards delirium that some lead, it is no longer enough to proclaim oneself an independentist. It is what fanaticism has: it is always hungry. One day, the enemy is the PP. The next, the socialist. Then the Comúns. Immediately, Gabriel Rufián. And so on, until reaching the friend, the neighbor, the father or the son. It’s all written in the history books.
Josep Sort, president of Reagrupament, the character who vomited xenophobic and sexist insults on the networks, has already resigned. More remain. It is still disturbing that one of the three lists that compete for the 14-F podium brings together the largest population of professionals of the grievance and humiliation. A dangerous combination of agitation and abstraction, of aggressiveness and self-absorption, of obfuscation and orthodoxy. Where thought does not reach, insult prevails.
