The mismanagement of the pro-independence government has ended up unleashing outrage even within Catalan nationalism. The Nationalist Party of Catalonia (PNC) has expressed this Wednesday its strong rejection of the current leaders of the Generalitat, whom it accuses of being “the worst government at the worst moment” for their work in the middle of the coronavirus pandemic.
The formation headed by Marta Pascal has requested this Wednesday the resignation of the regional ministers of Labor , Chakir el Homrani; of Business, Ramon Tremosa, and of Digital Policies, Jordi Puigneró, for “the chaos and errors” of Catalan Government in the management of the aid to the self-employed and restaurateurs affected by the serious current crisis. The general secretary of the PNC and candidate for the presidency of the Generalitat, Marta Pascal, calls for these resignations due to “the insufficiency of aid, the continuous computer problems to be able to process them, the squabbles between ministries and the inability to solve the problems.”
“The worst government”
“The political leaderships have become a hindrance for the country to move forward. Catalonia suffers the worst government at the worst time,” she lamented in a statement.
With three months to go before the elections, scheduled for February 14, Pascal believes that Catalonia needs “an immediate change of course” because, in her opinion, the current situation is unsustainable.
“We are facing an irresponsible, incompetent, reckless and negligent government that keeps the country and the institutions paralyzed,” she has settled.
