Carme Forcadell. / SUPREME COURT SIGNAL (EFE)
The European Court of Human Rights has rejected the request of the former President of the Parliament Carme Forcadell against her situation of remand, reports ACN.
According to court sources, the decision was made by a single judge in March, when he decided not to admit the claim. The same sources indicate that when the decision is in the hands of a single judge “the policy of the court” is not to make public the reasons for declaring it inadmissible, although they are communicated to the parties. Forcadell registered the claim in Strasbourg in January but after the judge rejected it the decision is “final” and it is not possible to appeal. The former president of the Parliament was the first accused in the 1-O in bringing the situation of remand before the ECHR. Then, her international lawyer Jessica Simor, in charge of the lawsuit, explained that she had requested that the case be considered as “urgent”.
