The President of the Generalitat, Salvador Illa, will attend this Friday the institutional act for the Constitution Day in the Congress of Deputies after years of absence of Catalan presidents, according to sources of the Catalan Executive consulted by Europa Press.

Illa already participated in the events of October 12 after 14 years of absence of the Catalan Executive in the Columbus Day and was the first Catalan president who participated in both the reception and the military parade since the period of the also socialist José Montilla, who governed from 2006 to 2010.

Illa’s participation in events such as 12-O or Constitution Day this Friday is part of the change of stage he wants to lead in Catalonia and his desire for ‘institutional normality’.
