The former Catalan president Carles Puigdemont has threatened the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, with “unpleasant consequences” if the “non-compliance” of issues that appear in the pact for which they supported him in the investiture continue.
The fugitive from Justice and former president of the Generalitat of Catalonia intervened this Wednesday in the debate on the Spanish presidency at the level of the European Parliament in Strasbourg and blames Pedro Sánchez for his failure to get the official status approved of Catalan in the European Union.
“Distrust arises from non-compliance,” he told her regarding the alleged discrimination that he said he suffered for not being able to speak in his native language in a European institution. Puigdemont spoke in Spanish, even though he usually does so in French. He finally suggested Sánchez he should “take advantage of opportunities when they present themselves” because otherwise he might have to face “unpleasant consequences.”
