The leader of the PSC, Salvador Illa, who calls for a meeting of Catalan parties / EUROPA PRESS
The first secretary of the PSC, Salvador Illa, insists on convening a dialogue table formed by all parties represented in Parliament so that “no one is left out of the dialogue”.
This is what he said in statements to the media after closing the JSC training school in Sant Dalmai (Girona), where he argued that it is now time to “open the dialogue, the one that was agreed” in Catalonia, after it has already been agreed that the dialogue table between the Government and the Generalitat will meet before the end of July.
“The only solution in democracy »
Illa has called for this meeting because he believes that, “to tackle the political conflict” in Catalonia, the only solution can be “dialogue”. “There are different ways of thinking and different approaches, fortunately, and this is the only way in a democracy”.
In this sense, he called on all the Catalan parties to participate: “It is the only instrument and the only way to resolve the differences we have, which exist, but if we talk about them, they can end up in points of consensus and agreement”.
For the Socialist leader, in complex times like the present, it is “important to seek points, to work for the politics of agreement and to move away from the politics of confrontation, in which some seem to be very comfortable”.
